FAQs

  • Where do I go for pick up/drop off?
We are located at 1965 E Hickory Hill Rd in Argyle. First, you will check-in to the front office for paperwork and payment. Then you will head down the gravel drive to the right, second gate on the right, to get the trailer loaded up. When you return, drop off the trailer in the back, and finally, stop back in the front office to get checked out. You must check-in with the office BEFORE and AFTER your appointment.
  • What is the earliest or latest I can pick up and drop off?
We are open at 7:00 am, Monday through Friday. We start batching concrete trailers at 7:00 am and all trailers are due back by 4:00 pm. A late fee may apply if returned after 5:00 pm.
  • Do you take walk-ins?
No, we don't take walk-ins. Call ahead to guarantee your reservation and we'll get you on the schedule. We can occasionally take same day appointments; however, it's best to make an appointment at least 24 hours in advance.
  • Are you open on Saturdays?
We are not yet open on Saturdays, but plan on this in the future.
  • What does "sack" mean?
Our concrete is made with Portland cement. "Sack" is a measurement of the amount of cement used in your mix. The more sacks of cement in the mix, the stronger the mix. Most mixes have 4-6 sacks. We use this measurement, rather than referring to PSI because our loading system is based on bag mixes and/or weight.
  • What about PSI rates?
The more cement that is added to the mix, the higher the PSI rating of the concrete. The three most common are: 2500 PSI (4 sack) - Typically used for low-traffic sidewalks, curbs, steps, ramps, setting fence posts, and other residential applications. 3000 PSI (5 sack) - Standard multi-purpose mixture for general use in construction, such as sidewalks, patios, and driveways not meant for heavy equipment; as well as slabs and other below-grade foundations. 4000 PSI (6 sack) - For serious home projects and professional jobs. Most commonly used for heavy traffic pavement, heavy use floor slabs like shops and warehouse, and concrete footings designed to support heavy loads. Argyle U-Tote does not guarantee PSI ratings.
  • What if I have concrete left over?
We do not have a dump site. Trailers are required to be returned clean and free of concrete. Trailers must be emptied of concrete, rinsed out with water, and left running upon return. Additional fees will apply if trailers are not returned clean.
